When I was about 5 years old my Grandma asked me “what do you want to be when yo grow up?”
I thought carefully for a few minutes then I replied
“A Nurse, a Teacher and an Actress”.
My Grandma laughed.
She said “you can’t be all three!’
Hmmm, why not, my 5 year old self wondered.
That moment has always stuck with me.
Although I didn’t go on to be any of those things, I’ve come to understand why I answered that way.
A Nurse helps people to heal.
A Teacher shares wisdom and helps people to learn new skills.
And an Actress can be flamboyant, express herself, be glamorous and get significance (one of the 6 human needs).
So it makes sense as to why I’d resonate with parts of all of these careers.
In my business today I get to incorporate all three aspects!
Do Business Like a Woman is about changing the way we do business, incorporating feminine energy practices into our businesses, and supporting female entrepreneurs to shine so that we can heal the world.
Within my business I get to teach online marketing and business skills to female entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Finally I get to do the extroverted ‘fun’ stuff sometimes (even though I’m naturally an introvert and wouldn’t spend the majority of my time here) like have a photoshoot or leading an event. I get to feel some significance (even though it’s not all about me).
So in many ways ‘Nurse, Teacher, Actress’ makes perfect sense and ‘this’, what I’m doing with Do Business Like a Woman, is what it has translated to for me in my adult life.
