This video is on overcoming overwhelm in your business ~ It’s about moving from overwhelm & procrastination to traction and results.

In it I share some of my top strategies for overcoming overwhelm & becoming effective.

Overwhelm is VERY common in business, especially at the beginning.

I have a mentor who talks about the ‘stages of business’. (Her name is Catherine Watkin and she helps heart centred business owners to sell. You can visit her website here).

Basically stages 1 is where you’re brand new, stage 2 is where you’ve got the beginnings of your business set up and have your first couple of clients and stage 3 is where it’s all starting to work (but you’re super, super busy juggling everything in the business while you up-level to stage 4, which is when it all start to work more seamlessly and your systems & structure take the pressure off).

If you are anywhere in stage 1 or 2 of your business you don’t need even half of the things you think you need to get going! Even if you’re in stage 3 you still don’t need to be doing ‘all the things‘.

First up here’s what you can drop…

You DON’T need:

> A fancy website with all the bells and whistles.
> To be on every single social media platform.
> Business cards.
> A title (no one really cares what your title in your biz is!)
> To be running Facebook ads (this is an advanced strategy which should ONLY be considered once you have a funnel that is already working and you’re already making sales: Facebook ads amplify whatever you’ve already got. So if you have no results, running FB ads will get you, well… no results!).
> To be a Youtube Guru (unless it’s one of the 2 strategies you’ve picked – see the video for more details).
> Expensive luxury photoshoots of you drinking glasses of champagne! 🙂
> A perfectly formed brand with all your colours, logos, fonts and branding down.
> Fancy / expensive software to manage your email list (Mailchimp has a free plan).
> A membership site.
> An ebook.

* NB: I’m not saying NEVER have these things. I’m just saying get clients first, create a VIABLE business that’s actually making you profits, THEN go ahead and start adding in these ‘nice to haves’. They will help you get to the next level, but they shouldn’t come before making sales and proving your business model, AND they’re not needed for making sales.

So what DO you need to get started with your business?

Simple:

1. A service or skill that you can sell (I’ll be doing a Facebook Live on how to identify what services you can offer & your marketable skills soon, so watch out for that).
2. A basic online presence. This can be as simple as a 2 page Squarespace website or even a LinkedIn profile.
3. To go out networking.
4. To choose a couple of online marketing strategies to get the word out.
5. A way to accept payment (that could even be by accepting cash directly from a client if they are local to you).

That’s it!

Seriously, you can get started like that.

With Love
