Today I was watching a Youtube video. This is a daily habit of mine; to watch some videos on Youtube which help me improve in the areas of personal development, business, mindset. finances and / or spirituality.

Today’s video was from Dr Wayne Dyer and I only watched a portion of it. One segment he was teaching was called ‘there are no justified resentments’. It was about how the first level of developing ourselves and becoming consciously aware beings is to take responsibility for EVERYTHING we’re currently experiencing in our lives. From our financial situation to our health, our business results to our relationship status.

This can be challenging, and yet it’s VITAL to your business success.

I’ve known about this and have aimed to live by it for a few years, sometimes with more success than others. I do appreciate it can be hard to do, and a bitter pill to swallow if someone out there has ‘screwed you over’…

In fact it’s not about ‘letting them off the hook’, it’s merely about looking at ‘what was MY part in it’, even if your part was only that you were there in the room or situation!

Sometimes bad things happen to good people through no fault of their own. Still we can choose to take responsibility for how we RESPOND to what happened and what we do next…

If you want to go even deeper, is there even such a thing as ‘good’ and ‘bad’? Or are they labels we humans give to events.

In his ‘Conversation with God’ books Neil Donald Walsh wrote that there isn’t such a thing as ‘good and bad’ in God’s eyes, only actions and consequences. We humans are the ones who give labels. I ‘get’ this, even if only on an intellectual level.

We may take a particular action and experience a consequence we don’t like. So we may then choose to take a different action next time.

Whatever you believe there, something that’s struck me recently is just how few people ‘out there’ are actually taking responsibility for their lives, outcomes and results. I’ve noticed this as I’ve been out and about and dating people. The majority of people are still stuck in ‘victim mentality’, thinking they are the victim of other people and of circumstance. That someone else has ‘done something to them’!

Many out there wouldn’t even know about this conversation or fully grasp the concept… Many more would argue against it. It can be hard to say that WE are the ones responsible for our lives and results (and our messes).

That’s both depressing and exciting at once!

It means that you, my friend, are ahead of the game. It also means we still have some work to do out there in our world…

Of course in the coaching and personal development field more people are familiar with these concepts.

One thing you can be sure of is you’ll get much further much faster in your business if you’re willing to take responsibility for what you’ve created so far. When you do that you have the POWER to be able to change and create new results. Ones that you like better! 🙂

You’ll choose different thoughts, words and deeds (actions) which will create different outcomes in your life and business.

Have fun!

With Love

Julie.
